The Academy’s Programs Group led by Senior Vice President Magdalena L. Mendoza presented a number of awards to the Sustainable Human Development Program (SHDP) during the Christmas celebration held on December 16, 2016. The SHDP awards are as follows: Outstanding Project Manager (Marites Solomon), Outstanding Technical Staff (Melonie Tejol), Rookie of the Year (Jasmine May Sabado), and Outstanding Administrative Support Staff (Noel Pelle). SHDP’s project that is currently implemented for the World Food Program entitled “Development of Standard Operating Procedures for Forecast-Based Emergency Preparedness” is recognized as a breakthrough project of the year. Another SHDP project that was implemented for the Bureau of Animal Industry entitled “Study of Benchmark Data on Pollution Load from Livestock Resources (Point Sources)” was given a citation for its significant sectoral impact. On top of these awards, SHDP keeps the 5S Champion Trophy of the Programs Group for topping the 5S audit in the 4th quarter of 2016. SHDP first received this award during the second semester of the year.
